Light makes all the difference

Attractive lighting can be used to great effect in hotels and restaurants to create specific highlights. With powerful and economical fluorescent lamps from OSRAM this is no problem at all. The correct lighting will turn any hotel or restaurant into a shining example – from stylish foyers and atmospheric bedrooms to fatigue-proof concentration in conference rooms.

Foyer

Receptions and foyers are the first areas that guests and visitors see, so they have to provide a particularly attractive atmosphere. The individual zones need to be distinguished with different light. This can be achieved with contrasts, bright and dark surfaces and vertical lighting components as panels or lines. For high-ceiling rooms we recommend “light ceilings” of frosted or colored glass or white stucco with haunch that can be backlit from the corners and from the middle with LUMILUX T5 HO HIGH OUTPUT lamps. Seating areas and lounge zones in the foyer are given a touch of style and flair with “light aquariums”. Glass panels are backlit with LUMILUX T5 fluorescent lamps under dynamic control.

Conference rooms

A modern lighting control system gives enormous flexibility in professional conference rooms. Various light colors, types of luminaire, direct and indirect light in different combinations enable the rooms to be used for a wide variety of purposes. LUMILUX T5 HE HIGH EFFICIENCY fluorescent lamps are recommended for background lighting in conference rooms for the haunch areas and translucent ceiling sections. These lamps may also be used in wallwashers to create a sense of spaciousness. Circular LUMILUX T5 FC FLUORESCENT CIRCLINE or LUMILUX T9C lamps from OSRAM provide an interesting contrast.

Hotel rooms

The guestrooms should radiate atmosphere and comfort. Good hotel room lighting should be glare-free and cast little shadow. In the guestrooms, LUMILUX T8 lamps provide the background lighting or pleasant indirect lighting, for example near the bed or at a table. T8 fluorescent lamps are also suitable for providing accent lighting in the room or for creating a feel-good atmosphere in the bathroom. LUMILUX T5 lamps or the economical BASIC Energy Saver T5 lamps can be used as emergency lighting so that guests can find their way in the dark.

Restaurants and bars

Perfect restaurant lighting provides atmosphere and zoning. While the background lighting should be subtle, the service areas should be lit a little brighter. Tables and other seating areas call for a relaxing atmosphere. The light should be bright for the food and drink to be properly enjoyed but subdued enough to create a sense of privacy.
