The new Osram Environmental Report is now online
MUNICH – Osram has put its Environmental Report online. You can now read the latest version of the report at www.osram.com. Just go to "About us – Environmental Protection".
"The largest target groups for our Environmental Report are environmental specialists and people interested in environmental issues who expect the latest possible information", says Dr. Ralf Criens, Head of Environmental Affairs at Osram. "This is why we are going over to the high-speed medium of the internet". There will be constant updates, and once a year (instead of every two years) the "environment balance sheet" for the company will be placed online. Osram will not be producing a printed version of the Environmental Report.
The new Online Environmental Report offers a number of new features such as a section on innovations in environmental protection. At the click of the mouse you can get information on topics such as mercury reduction, energy savings with electronic control gear and UV filter technology. "Products and Environment" presents products that are particularly environmentally friendly. This is shown by the new "Global care" environment logo, which is also presented here. Environmental information can be downloaded for all the major product groups, indicating the relevant materials, behaviour in the event of a lamp break and how to dispose of products at the end of their lives. The "Production and the Environment" section provides success stories from the production sites, product development and process engineering.
Together with the multimedia agency 21TORR AGENCY Osram has designed and implemented features such as the interactive environment timeline in Flash technology, a comprehensive range of environmental product information for downloading and integrated pictures and graphics.
