Light creates reality and influences the way we see things. With the aid of the latest LED technology, the medium of light itself now becomes the actual image carrier for art and today lighting is used to create an essential effect at events.

Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Munich, Germany

On July 17th, 2008, the installation "Moving Lines" by the artist Reinhold Föst from Augsburg was uncovered in front of the Fraunhofer building, Munich. A total of 81 stainless steel tubes arranged in an orthogonal raster typify the Fraunhofer company as a whole, but also reflect the independence and uniqueness of the individual Fraunhofer companies.

Seven Screens, Munich, Germany

Light art in public area. 6m high steles, equipped with LED displays on both sides serve as digital platforms for media artists. Altogether almost 80 square meters of display area are equipped with RGB LEDs of the latest generation in a pixel distance of only 10 millimeters. These 7 steles were set up in front of the OSRAM building in Munich.

Petuelpark, Munich, Germany

Urban light arts for Munich´s latest park. Adaptation of the innovative Xenon automotive lamp system.The light art project contains 72 steles integrating 2 or 4 light systems each with XENARC © lamps from OSRAM that replace the conventional park illumination. From the beginning it was quite clear that the lighting should not only be a piece of art, but also fulfil the special needs of a park illumination.

Stone Bridge, Regensburg, Germany

Temporary illumination of the Stone Bridge, which was built between AD 1135 and AD 1146. A time bar, realised in LED technology, reflects the moving history of the town featuring the most important events by means of a vertical white shining line. Each red LED represents one month since the city was founded in AD 179 (21.900 months and just as many LEDs).

In the entrance areas of the building complex, several art objects represent the cultural ambitions of the world company. The light object “blue cube” was created in cooperation beetween the “Mayer´sche Hofkunstanstalt München” and OSRAM. It incorporates 36 blue cubes, which include the architectural aspect glass and focus on an avant-garde light concept.

Allerheiligen Hofkirche, Munich, Germany

Until the church was rebuilt a few years ago, the ruins left by the war and threatened by demolition led a shadowy existence in the Munich urban landscape. Even today the traces can be seen clearly inside the nave. This temporary situation offered the possibility of designing and implementing an unusual light solution.
